Asianet and Suvarna News channels ordered to pay Rs 50 lakh in damages to Divya Spandana

Divya Spandana

The Bengaluru City Civil Court has asked TV slot Asianet and its Kannada news channel Suvarna News to pay Rs 50 lakh to Kannada actress and former MP Divya Spandana in a criticism case. The actor-politician was illegitimately connected to the IPL spot-fixing trick in 2013 by the news channel. After Suvarna News publicized projects alluding to her association in the Indian Premier League (IPL) wagering outrage, Divya had recorded the suit in 2013 against the channel.
