SPOILER- FREE REVIEW
Indeed it’s the one and only endgame and nothing could have been better. Predictions and premonitions fell short for the cine-goer who had exited the theatre hall with speckles of tears. Directors Anthony and Joe Russo get their act together to give a proper, emotional, funny and spectacular, send-off to a cast of characters we have come to know (and, mostly love) over 22 films and 10 years. The final battle in the infinity saga is one proper conclusion as me a hell-bent marvel fan’s opinion.
Tracking the many heroes, and superheroes, and justifying their pay grade and presence last time, the Russos find a way to hold it all together now — though, admittedly, they have fewer head-count than in Infinity War given that Thanos had made many vanish. The storyline may seem getting out of hand often but the directional brilliance unifies the holistic combination of time travel, infinity stones and quantum physics. Writers Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely (who have many Avenger films on their resume) tackles love, fatherhood, motherhood and parenthood with a light touch which would do even better films proud and this will render you a wholesale experience.
Brilliantly performed in motion-capture by Josh Brolin, Thanos now comes with even catchy quotes and a more sinister agenda further macabre unveiled through his actions. A villain convinced not just of the motivations of his own villainy but also that it may just be a significant utensil in the larger endgame of the universe — in his words, a man like him, believing in and unleashing the cycle of extinction and renewal, for continuum, is “inevitable”. For the sake of avoiding spoilers, let us not speak on the fate of Thanos for the twists are something no man would ever forebode in its entirety.
Each character builds themselves up to their best form in order to meet the “inevitable” Thanos. Each costume, each spandex now have a story to tell. Endgame shows its allegiance towards the realm of science and universal laws in par with Einstein! Some plots can be isolated from the comics but the symbiosis something like anything.
Iron Man gets to settle his father issues, Captain America aka to have a shot at a normal life, Thor to choose between being god and man, Hulk aka Bruce to make peace with the duality, Hawkeye aka Barton acknowledges his feelings for Black Widow , while the latter learns about her dad and has one of the most profound moments in the film, while just eating a sandwich. Of the main people this time, only Ant-Man aka Scott doesn’t impress.
