The Bay Area South Asian Film Festival will present 16 films including world premieres and North America premieres.
The first edition of Bay Area South Asian Film Festival is going to take place from September 21 to September 23 in Silicon Valley.
In this festival, 16 movies, including four world premieres and four North America premieres will be screened at the venues in Palo Alto and Mountain View.
From feature films, short films, documentaries, small screen productions, theater, music to other medium stor, the festival will present many with a chance to present their work.
It is Tamil superstar Dhanush’s first Hollywood film that will open the inaugural edition.
Dhanush’s first Hollywood film, ‘The Extraordinary Journey of the Fakir’ is a film based on Romain Puértolas’ best-selling novel. It sees a street magician’s journey from Mumbai to find his father. During the search, he finds love in a Swedish furniture store in Paris. This journey becomes for the protagonist, an unexpected journey of self-discovery.
A film starring Irrfan Khan and another starring Kunal Kapoor will also be screened.
Song of the Scorpions’ by Director Anup Singh starring Irrfan Khan, Waheeda Rehman, and Golshifteh Farahani will be screened on September 22. It is a story of revenge and redemption.
On the same day, ‘Noblemen’, a loss of innocence tale by Director Vandana Kataria starring Kunal Kapoor and Ali Haji will also be screened.
