The petitioner demanded the revocation of the permission granted by the chief caretaker to Mohanlal’s possession of ivory. The Kozhikode Range Forest Officer filed the charge sheet in the Magistrate’s Court on the 16th of this month. There are four accused including Mohanlal.

Actor Mohanlal is the first accused in the case. PN Krishnakumar, a native of Thrissur, is the second accused in the case. K. Krishnakumar, a native of Eroor, Thrippunithura, and Nalini Radhakrishnan, a resident of Chennai Peninsula High Road are the three accused. The elephants were found in June 2012 during a raid conducted by Mohanlal’s Thevara residence. The charge sheet states that the act of possessing ivory is offensive and punishable. Under the Wildlife Protection, Act of 1972, possession and transfer of ivory without the permission of the Chief Wildlife Warden is illegal. The accused are accused of buying and selling ivory and not giving any notice to the government. Mohanlal’s discontent with the permission of the Kerala High Court had earlier provided Emerson. The court was of the view that the government was obliged to act in accordance with the law and that there was no further action in the 2012 case. The court also noted that there was a delay in the failure of the FIR. Elephants were seized during a raid conducted at their Thevara residence and handed over to the Forest Department.
