Gulaebaghavali Review

Kalyaan’s screwball comic drama is like that adolescence work out. The film opens in 1945, with an anecdote around an Indian who takes significant pearls from a British man. At that point, slice to the present and we see Revathi sitting in the recreation center, out to lunch. She’s reasoning about her dead child – you believe she’s playing a calm elderly lady however no. She is Masha (recall the energetic young lady from the ’90s screwball parody Arangetra Velai?), a prepared swindler.

Revathi’s counterparts like Rajini and Kamal are as yet playing the legend, getting “mass” presentation scenes and macho battles. Gulaebaghavali shocks us by giving this veteran lady performing artist comparable groupings. It’s engaging and strangely touching even, to see the petite Revathi flick her hair back and complete a snappy walk, enjoy a fast auto pursue, and sock the lowlifess.

There’s one scene where Masha begins discussing a halfway house she thinks about, her eyes overflowing and I was going yawn yet it’s not what you think it is – the subversion is astonishing and clever. She even gets the fourth divider breaking minutes that are typically saved for our enormous legends – references to Mouna Ragam and Mann Vasanai that you should know.

Prabhu Deva and Hansika (who includes in a meatier than normal part) get some sentiment going amidst the chase for…for what? There’s jewels, statues, a sister held prisoner – a group of plot lines that meet up. It’s troublesome not to love Prabhu Deva’s move on the off chance that you’ve experienced childhood in the ’90s and it’s great to see him do the “boneless” moves as easily as ever. For what reason isn’t Prabhu Deva wearing Prabhu Deva pants any more however? The film was sold to the group of onlookers as an “enterprise dream” however the dream part is limited to one tune which, for reasons unknown, likewise includes a polar bear.

Gulaebaghavali isn’t an especially unique film. The comic drama is somewhat entertaining, particularly on the off chance that you get every one of the references – the red auto joke from Karagatakkaran, for example. The peak is unusual and could possibly turn out to be genuinely funny – yet some way or another, the film misses the transport by remaining too near to the droll region.

Be that as it may, Gulaebaghavali still shocked me since I went thinking this was a Prabhu Deva film and wound up viewing a Revathi film – and here it is, contending with Vikram’s Sketch and Suriya’s TSK at a swarmed end of the week in the cinema world. Will KJR Studios, which gave us Nayanthara’s Aramm a year ago, figure out how to remain above water with this one? One expectations along these lines, for Masha 2.O’s purpose!
