Harikrishnans movie is being released at a time when Mammootty and Mohanlal are stepping into Malayalam cinema. The movie was a huge success and the songs in the movie are still very much appreciated by the fans. The film’s biggest climax is its three character climax. It was a time when Mohanlal and Mammootty were shooting in Malayalam cinema. There was a desire in my mind to make a movie with these two. Both were close friends of mine. When they were presented with the subject, they were in agreement. But the biggest hurdle I had to deal with was writing the script without giving too much preference to anyone. I was careful not to criticize anybody for being too much. Such criticism can sometimes be embarrassing to the other person. The climax of the film is very confusing. There was confusion as to which of them would get Juhi Chawla as the heroine. The film finally completes as two climaxes. Out of a total of 36 prints, Mohanlal gets 16 and Mammootty gets 16.
