A month ago, we had revealed to you that the Tamil movie Oru Pakka Kathai, by Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom chief Balaji Tharaneetharan, was confronting control inconveniences in light of the fact that an exchange in the film had the term ‘intercourse’. In spite of getting a U declaration from the amending council, the creators had disclosed to us the blue pencil board was hesitant to issue the testament saying “they have to clear up with Mumbai on the utilization of the word”.
However, now, in an unmistakable indication of the edit board’s adjustment in viewpoint after Prasoon Joshi supplanted Pankaj Nihalani as the CBFC boss, the Kalidas Jayaram-Megha Akash-starrer has been cleared with a U endorsement.
Says Balaji Tharaneetharan, “Two weeks prior, we got a call from the blue pencil board saying that our film will be cleared. Furthermore, on Tuesday night, we were given the U declaration. They have not requested that we quiet or supplant the word intercourse.”
Test him on what he supposes could have prompted this difference in position from the board and he answers, “Maybe this must do with the substitution of the old boss and the perspectives of the present boss.”
