In the week leading up to the suicide, actor Sushant Singh Rajput repeatedly searched Google for three things, police said. According to a senior official overseeing the case, Sushant had recently searched Google for his own name, the name of former manager Disha Salian, who committed suicide before his death, and information about his mental illness. On June 14, just hours before Sushant committed suicide, she googled her own name. Officials said the information came from forensic reports of mobile phones and laptops obtained from the Kalina Forensic Laboratory.
Mumbai police have so far recorded the statements of about 40 people in the case. Sushant knew that her name was being discussed in connection with Disha Salian’s death. He feared that the rumors would reach the media. That’s why he searched for these things online. Officials said the problems seemed to make his condition worse and that Sushant had Google his own name just hours before the suicide. Meanwhile, investigators have also found details of Sushant’s bank account. All the accounts to which the money was transferred were known.
The largest transfer was Rs 2.8 crore last year, which was for GST, officials said. Police recorded the statements of three psychiatrists and one psychotherapist last month. All three have confirmed that Sushant has approached them for treatment. Officials said they also handed over the drugs they were prescribed.
