Lal Jose is one of the directors who has gifted many good films to Malayalees. Lal Jose, who started his career as a co-director in cinema, quickly became the favorite director of Malayalees. In an interview, Lal Jose reveals an experience he had while looking for a job as a co-director. Lal Jose was talking about a verbal dispute with Sunita who was once a regular presence in Jayaram, Mukesh, and Jagatheesh films. In the words of Lal Jose,
Sunitha and I had a word dispute on the set of the movie Pookalam Varavayi. Jayaram was the hero of the movie. I went to Sunita two or three times and told her that the shot was ready but she did not come. When Sunita did not come after a while, I asked her the reason. Then theirs is the answer. I called Sunita and told her that the shot was ready. What is the name of such a famous star? He said that she should either be called Sunithamma or Sunitha Madam.
I was shocked to hear that. Here I also talked hotly about the fact that no one calls her ‘Mother’ and that she was given the name Sunita to call herself ‘that’. When the conversation went too far, the film’s director Kamal Sar intervened and ended the conversation. After that, I did not speak to Sunita till the end of the shooting. The film did not meet with the expected success when it hit theaters.
