Marjaavaan stars Sidharth Malhotra, Tara Sutaria and Riteish Deshmukh in lead roles. According to early estimates, the film is expected to earn a decent amount on Monday. After making the most of its first weekend, Sidharth Malhotra and Tara Sutaria’s Marjaavaan is expected to hold its ground well on Monday. The film made Rs 7.03 crore on the first day of its release. It entered its first weekend with glorious
numbers as it made Rs 7.21 crore on Saturday and minted a total of Rs 10.18 crore on Sunday. Marjaavaan is expected to earn Rs 4 crore on Monday. The film is an action-packed drama that sees Sidharth Malhotra at its center stage. Sidharth has tried to change his image of the boy-next-door with this film. He is playing the role of an orphan who is raised by a local mafia.
He does all the bad deeds for him, to help him run his empire successfully, but he has a good heart. Sidharth’s relationship with his godfather goes through a rough patch when he falls in love with a mute girl – Tara Sutaria. The film also sees Riteish Deshmukh in the negative role, who is always trying to put
Sidharth down in the film. Marjaavaan, though successful at the box office, received negative reviews from the critics. Our reviewer Narita Mukherjee gave the film 1 out of 5 stars and wrote, “There is no acting in the film. Unless teeth-clenching has been promoted to that position. Riteish tries, but it is impossible to take seriously a menacing villain who speaks in verse. It is equally impossible to take a hero who rhymes kanpatti’ (forehead) and Ganpati in a serious threat, for his word.”
