Mind-blowing Real Life Prison Escape Stories Will Make You Go….WHAT?!

If you though Shawshank Redemption was great, look at them other real life prison escapes. You will gain a whole new respect for the will power of these convicts.

 

7.Bac Tien Duong

This one’s a very recent incident!

Using a rope made from bed sheets, Bac Tien Duong and two other inmates, rappelled from the roof of an Orange County jail after squeezing through steel bars and plumbing tunnels.

6.John Dillinger

John Dillinger as a boy he committed petty theft. In 1924 he robbed a grocery store and was caught and jailed.

But then, he one of the most famous bank robbers in history, John Dillinger escaped from prison in 1934 using this fake pistol that he carved from wood.

5.Alcatraz

The June 1962 Alcatraz escape is the only successful escape from Alcatraz Federal Penitentiary in that facility’s history. On the night of June 11 of June 12, inmates Clarence Anglin, John Anglin and Frank Morris tucked papier-mache` heads resembling their own likenesses into their beds, broke out of the main prison building via an unused utility corridor, and departed Alcatraz Island aboard an improvised inflatable raft to an uncertain fate.

No one knows if they lived or died till today.

4.Confederate Libby Prison

The prisoners started tunnelling in a rat-infested zone which the Confederate guards were reluctant to enter.

The tunnel emerged in a vacant lot beside a warehouse, from where the escapees could walk out through the gate without arousing suspicion. Since the prison was believed to be escape-proof, there was less vigilance by the authorities than in other camps, and the alarm was not raised for nearly twelve hours.

3.James Rober Jones

In 1977, James Robert Jones managed to escape from Fort Leavenworth’s maximum security military prison. He was not found until 2014, living in Florida under an assumed name.

Jones was one of the Army’s 15 most-wanted fugitives after his escape from the Kansas prison dubbed “The Castle” for its large walls and tower keeps.

 

2.Martin Luther King Killer

ames Earl Ray, confessed killer of Martin Luther King Jr., escaped from Brushy Mountain State Prison in Petros, Tenn. He was recaptured three days later.

James Earl Ray escaped maximum security Brushy Mountain State Prison, from which no inmate had ever escaped. He was serving a 99-year prison sentence for the murder of U.S. civil rights leader Martin Luther King, Jr.

1.Slick Willie

During his forty-year criminal career William Sutton stole an estimated $2 million, and he eventually spent more than half of his adult life in prison and escaped three times.

He gained the name of Slick Willie for his prison escapes. In 1947 he dressed as a prison guard and just walked right out.
