The Mannath building, the Mumbai residence of actor Shah Rukh Khan, is covered with plastic on the floor. Suddenly, pictures of the plastic-covered mannath went viral on social media.
At a time when the number of corona victims in Maharashtra has crossed three lakh and Bachchan’s family is undergoing treatment, rumors are circulating that Shah Rukh’s house was covered with corona out of fear. The issue was hotly debated on Twitter.

But later it was reported that this was not the case and that it was due to heavy rains in Mumbai. This is not the first time King Khan has covered his house with plastic. This had been done before during the monsoon season.

However, what looked like the Covid-19 safety protocol was actually a measure to protect the building from the Mumbai rains. The city recorded its second-highest 24-hour rainfall since 2015 last week, and Bandra – where the actor lives – received about 201 mm rainfall. The rain output in the first half of July measured 1,024 millimeters.
