BJP leader Subrahmanyam Swamy on Tuesday targeted Deepika Padukone on the statement of ‘being backward’. Swamy tweeted, “Actress Deepika Padukone is giving speeches on backwardness (the regression). The country can be ahead only when we proceed with its perspective.” He commented on this after Deepika’s interview with IANS, in which he (Deepika) reacted to the incident on his forthcoming film Padmavati. He said in the interview, “It is horrific, it is absolutely frightening.” What did we get from that? And where have we reached as a nation? We have gone back on the move. ”
He said, “Our responsiveness is only towards the censor board and I know and I believe that nothing can stop the film from being released.” He said, “Support from the film industry is a symbol of the fact that it is not just about ‘Padmavati‘, but the film industry is fighting a major fight.”
Cine actress Deepika Padukone giving us lecture on regression!! Nation can progress only when it is regression from her perspective.

speaking on the ‘Padmavati‘ controversy, focus on the literacy of Rajasthani women rather than film … When a Twitter user commented on Swami’s tweet, he wrote that he (Deepika Padukone) is a citizen of the Netherlands. Swamiji then commented on it, “If it is correct, then he must definitely disclose it. This is purely Indian debate.”
