Tabu hasn’t worked in Tollywood for over 10 years yet as of late proceeded to sign a Telugu film. She was roped in by Trivikram Srinivas to play a vital role in the Allu Arjun starrer he is directing. Presently we hear that she has inked another arrangement. She will star in Rana Daggubati’s up and coming project to be directed by Venu Udugula, which has Rana playing a police officer and Sai Pallavi playing a Naxalite.
Sources told DC, “Director Venu Udugula flew down to Mumbai a month ago to portray his story to Tabu. The actress was charmed by the script and her role in it. In fervor, Tabu consented to be a piece of the film, in spite of the fact that she hasn’t marked the contract yet,” said a source in the know. Touted to be an action entertainer, it will be a gripping tale, say sources. The film’s shooting is likely to begin in July this year.
In Trivikram’s film, Tabu will play Allu Arjun’s mom. Sources up to date say that the director had two actors in mind for the role. While one was Tabu, the other was Nadiya. In the end, the job was offered to Tabu. Pooja Hegde has been reserved in to play the lead inverse Allu Arjun. If the industry grapevine is anything to go by, this yet-to-be-titled film is inspired by the Hollywood film The Invention of Lying. Written and directed by Ricky Gervais and Matthew Robinson, the 2009 film was about the first human with the capability to lie in a world where people could only speak the truth. The film starred Jennifer Garner, Jonah Hill, Louis CK, Rob Lowe and Tina Fey. Tim Atack had composed the music for this film with Tim Suhrstedt cranking the camera and Chris Gill editing it. The film was made on a budget of US$ 18.5 million and collected US$ 32.7 million.
