Tamil actress Riyamikka (26) committed suicide by hanging herself at her residence in Valasaravakkam, Chennai on November 28. The reason behind the suicide is still unknown. Police have registered a case and investigation is on.
Riyamikka, who played lead roles in Tamil films like Kundrathile Kumaranuku Kondattam and Aghori-Yin Attam Aarambam, was staying with her brother Prakash at a rented accommodation in the Sridevi Kuppam area of Valasaravakkam. They were residing in this house for the past four months.

Prakash told the police that Riyamikka came home late on Tuesday night, and that was the last time he saw his sister alive. Prakash said she looked “very tired” when he met her last.
Apparently, Riyamikka last called her boyfriend Dinesh on Tuesday late night. On Wednesday, Dinesh tried to reach her mobile, but when he couldn’t get through to her, he went to her home and asked Prakash about Riyamikka.
Post that, Dinesh and Prakash saw that Riyamikka’s room is locked from the inside and when she did not open it after several knocks, Prakash broke open the window, and saw Riyamikka hanging from the ceiling.
As soon as the complaint was received, the police went to the spot and recovered her body. After doing a few films, Riyamikka stopped getting a lot of work in Kollywood, because of which she was apparently under a lot of stress. Her family suspects that the stress might have resulted in her suicide.
