In Chhattisgarh, a 16-year-old girl was sold by her father to a 21-year-old man for Rs 3,000. The shocking incident was reported from Raigad district. The incident took place two years ago. The Times Now reports that the young man who bought the 16-year-old left the street when the girl became pregnant. The 18-year-old girl is currently talking to authorities about the abuse she suffered after five months of counseling. When he bought the 16-year-old girl for Rs 3,000, he promised the father that he would give the child a job in his house. But the young man, who sexually abused the girl for months, left her on the street when she became pregnant.
The girl was rescued by the Women and Child Welfare Department in May this year. Until the authorities arrived, Kovid was afraid and no one was willing to help the girl. She gave birth to a healthy baby now. The girl, who was occasionally treated at a hospital in Bilaspur on her way home, was shifted to the ‘Sakhi’ center in Raigad last month. The girl says the ordeal began when her mother died. The boy says he has been subjected to brutal sexual abuse since he approached the young man. A case has been registered against the accused under the POCSO Act in the incident.
