Guddan Chaudhary, who is an inhabitant of Hathras, is a police constable by day and after obligation hours or in her extra time she educates at a school in Khurja town of Bulandshahr in Uttar Pradesh. Kidsaffectionately calls her “police madam”.
Chaudhary was posted in Khurja (Dehat) police station for the past 6 months and today she has 24 students in her class who come from an economically disadvantaged background and cannot afford proper education. Apart from this, she also provides books to these children.
On asking what provoked all her aside some time from this high-weight work, she said to TOI: “I am doing my bit.” Further, she accepts that instruction is the main way that will enable them to carry on with a good life.
Guddan used to teach in Mathura as well from where she completed her studies and therefore, taking out time for her passion is nothing new for her. This 2016-batch constable has reserved 30% of her salary for buying books for these poor children.
